Here at The Knot we love nothing more than hearing about how a couple came to be engaged, and only thing more romantic than a proposal is a Christmas proposal!

Yep, it’s beyond special. Read on for three of the most adorable Xmas proposal stories we’ve heard. In fact, we think Mariah may just have had these guys in mind when she penned “All I Want For Christmas Is You”…
1) Heather & Grant
“I knew in advance that Grant had been planning a special date night to take me to on a carriage ride to see the nearby Christmas lights and to a nice dinner (we had a gift certificate), but I had no idea how special of a night it was to become! About halfway through the carriage ride, I saw a photographer hiding behind a telephone pole snapping pictures and I remember thinking ‘Aww, I bet someone is getting engaged!’ Even when I saw the ‘Will You Marry Me’ Christmas light display, I thought it was for someone else’s proposal! It took me a few second to realise that it was infact MY proposal! Before I knew it Grant was on one knee!” Photography by Allison Davis Photography
2) Daniela & Remone
Remone knew that he wanted to pop the question on Christmas Eve, and he worked with Mint To Be Photography so that they could capture the surprise proposal. He took Daniela to a local shopping centre, where each year they bring in three grand Christmas trees that are decorated with romantic lights. When Daniela walked up the stairs, she heard a choir singing her favourite song and then Remone handed her a letter to read. Once she finished, he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage! Photography by Mint To Be Photography
3) Brittany & Tim
“We walked into the garden centre holding hands and it was almost entirely empty other than the employees who worked there. Tim led me towards the back of the store where there were lots of pine trees off in a secluded area. At that point I was a little confused as to what was going on, but then something beautiful caught my eye. I turned and saw the most romantic arrangement of pine trees decorated in twinkly lights and photos from our relationship. I was overwhelmed and I immediately burrowed my head into Tim’s chest. It was perfect. He then proceeded to walk me through the story of our relationship told in a carefully arranged timeline of photos. He gave a candid little commentary on each photo that we came across and we both smiled and laughed as we looked back on the memories that we had created together. I became nervous as our walk down memory lane slowly came to a close, and we looked at the last photo that we had taken together over Christmas. Tim was holding my hand and smiling, and I knew what was coming! Before I knew it, he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring and was asking me to spend the rest of my life with him.” Photography by Jessica Rose Smith
