Sarah and Mark’s destination wedding had a traditional elegant vibe. We love the lush green scenery overlooking Vermont’s misty Green Mountains!
“Mark and I are both from New York, but we grew up spending time in Vermont, skiing there when we were younger,” Sarah says. “We love the outdoors and the mountains, so the local country club was the perfect place.” Working with planner Janet Dunnington and florist Michael Cifrino (Sarah’s uncle), they outfitted their destination affair with a light summery colour palette, sophisticated rose centerpieces and earthy touches like fresh herbs and moss.
The reception was held under an open-air sail marquee, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the expansive manicured lawns. Twinkling lights were strung from the lofty ceiling to create a warm, inviting ambiance, while simple wooden tables introduced a rustic note to the space.
Fern accents, wicker lounges with navy and blue pillows and bomboniere bags filled with regional specialties (think: Cabot cheese, Vermints, locally made chocolates and a gift certificate to a local bookstore) added a special local touch to the day.
Our favourite part? How the couple played up the historic vibe of their venue, arriving in style to the reception in the back of a 1923 Ford Model T.
