When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt tied the knot on August 23 in France, they took writing their own wedding vows a step further (of course they did!). Yep, the king and queen of the A-list decided to let their six children (Maddox, 13: Pax, 10: Zahara, nine: Shiloh, eight: and Vivienne and Knox, six) write their vows for them. And of course, the results were pretty adorable and heartfelt. The line we love the most? They promised to always, always say sorry after an argument. Awww!
“They did not expect us never to fight, but they always made us promise to say ‘sorry’ if we do,” Angelina revealed in Vanity Fair‘s December 2014 issue. “So they said, ‘Do you?,’ and we said, ‘We do!’”
But judging from Angelina’s custom-made Atelier Versace wedding dress and veil covered in her children’s colourful drawings, their wedding was a total family affair. “We were all going to have a wedding,” Angelina says. “There was no cake, so Pax made a cake. The kids made little pillows for the rings and Knox practised [being a ring bearer] with an acorn that kept falling off the pillow. Brad’s mum went and picked some flowers and tied them up.”
And as for finally getting married to Brad after being together for seven years and engaged for two? “It does feel different,” Ange says. “It feels nice to be husband and wife.”
Would you add this sweet line into your own vows, Knotties?
