Help!! I am trying to find a venue within one hour of Brisbane for a rustic country wedding. I have looked at Boomerang Farm but my Fiance has a few reservations, would appreciate any feedback on this venue. I would consider a hall or property I have to decorate but would prefer to have a venue that does the decorating for me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thansk

    Hi Naenaeqld & congratulations!
Midginbil Hill Uki which is a little bit more than an hour south of Brisbane has an amazing old barn which you decorate yourselves. It is nestled in pristine bush at the base of Mt Warning and accommodates all your guests in dormitory/cabin style.  I was the celebrant at a recent wedding there and my bride & groom and their army of friends & family had it looking amazing. Staff may decorate for you.  There is a massive cleared area with cut logs in a circle inside which you build a huge bonfire for after dark. Had a great feel about it!

there is Albert River Winery http://albertriverwines.com.au/ in the Scenic Rim area and Coolibah Downs http://goldcoast-weddings.com.au/ in the Gold Coast Hinterland Area… Mt Tamborine would have some nice venues too…
sorry… only 4 months later posting this ! haha… did you find somewhere or still looking ?
and Eco Studio Fellini http://ecostudiofellini.com/ out the back of Mudgeeraba is gorgeous. i have worked there for weddings in the past and it is a lovely venue.
i do like Boomerang Farm (although not attended there for a wedding) but i think they do a good job…
maybe somewhere up on the Sunny Coast too ??
