The most stressful and annoying part of the wedding has been bridemaids dresses.
I found a stunning dress that was perfect. I even offered to pay half the dress for the bridemaids.
But of course they did not go up to a big size.
I feel so bad for theplus size ladies. They cant try on anything,Sometimes you cant get there size and (not to us) But made to feel asahmed of there size.
So I have just gone with a basic but classy dress.February 26, 2013 at 1:57 pm #351467
Unfortunately it’s not even the fact that some dresses don’t go up to the bigger sizes, but those that do aren’t made to flatter a bigger woman. I’ve spotted so many outfits that would look gorgeous on a size 8 girl, but look absolutely shocking on me. Bigger girls need to then try on every single piece of clothing just to know whether it looks good, because even though it looks great on the maniquan, adding curves to the outfit can ruin it… I also hate dresses that are fitted, and if you happen to be curvier around the hips it won’t sit right. I’m having this problem at the moment with a cocktail dress I bought!February 26, 2013 at 3:21 pm #351521
MissBridezilla, it sucks! I have 4 BMs, all totally different sizes, height varies about 30cm, and all diff sizes from a size 6 to a 14/16 (she just had a baby)… So we needed to find a dress that would fit tall and curvy, tall and straight, short and curvy and short and straight, B cup to an E cup… that everyone liked… We ended up with this one http://www.allurebridals.com/products/1221 which is also on the flashing banner at the top of the homepage in different colours http://www.allurebridals.com/
It looks beautiful on all the shapes we have, and I got them custom made to the girls sizing, which was fantastic, as they are all very unique shaped.
Alfred Angelo have a great plus size policy (no extra charges – this is on bridal gowns, but I’m sure that they would probably be just as awesome for bridesmaids)February 26, 2013 at 4:43 pm #351591
Oh my goodness DankiStar, how much was each dress? I saw this on Pinterest and absolutely loved it, but could never find a link that worked correctly!!!!February 27, 2013 at 12:44 pm #351681
The dresses were about $360 each, but I ended up getting someone to make them for me for a lot cheaperFebruary 27, 2013 at 6:44 pm #351863
Thanks ladies I was going to get them dresses but don’t want to buy online. I did once and they got lost.
I got this one for the BM http://sydneystune.com.au/collection1?vsig1_0=22 only $240.

I am a plus size bride, and was struggling to find anything flattering. I happened upon a website http://www.plussizebridal.com They stock from size 0-32 in bridal wear and bridesmaids. You can return any plus-size items that are not the right fit too. I ordered my Allure wedding dress from here and am over the moon with how beautiful it is (and $2000 cheaper than buying the same dress in Aus.) Just a word of warning, order with time to spare in case they run behind (mine was 6 wks late in delivery)….April 9, 2013 at 7:45 am #374819
